Hi. My name’s Matt and I’m (surprise!) a writer in the upper midwest.
I wanted to start a review blog because I have no shortage of opinions, and little hesitation in sharing them. (Really, why else does anyone start a blog?) But my regular work–and two kids–don’t leave a lot of time for writing in-depth reviews.
How to do a review blog with entries worth reading, but brief enough to do often?
How to get to the essence of something with brevity?
Haiku!
Not to say haiku is easy to write. On the contrary, a really good haiku can be quite demanding. Fortunately, I’m not necessarily aiming for really good haiku. I just want to get to the core essence of my opinion on something.
The only theme this site follows is the haiku format of the reviews. Movies, books, restaurants, toothpaste… Any topic is fair game for a review. If it makes an impression on me, good or bad, chances are it’ll get a review here.
I hope you find my little efforts here entertaining, and-dare I say-useful. Thanks for visiting!

Any chance you’d twitter these reviews?
I’d follow a “daily tweet review in haiku” in a minute.
Hey, that’s not a bad idea. Tweets look pretty brief, though. These wouldn’t be too long? And sometimes I post more than one a day. Would that be a problem?
I was all over web 1.0. But my grasp of web 2.0 is coming a bit more slowly, I’m afraid. After all: Look! I’ve started a blog! I’m so 2001!
Well, there doesn’t necessarily need to be a one to one correspondence between what gets posted to the site and what gets twittered….
Well, there is that.
Great site!
I often do political haikus on my blog… http://ljsteam.blogspot.com/search/label/Haikus
Gave you a call-out. http://ljsteam.blogspot.com/

@DRS: Hey, thanks! I appreciate it. I’ll have to give your site a look-see.
